What Are The Green Tea Extract Benefits To Our Health?
by Gordon Hall

What are the green tea extract benefits to human health? Is the research complete? Are there proven results? Here’s a look at the answers to those questions.What first began as a satisfying beverage, healthier than drinking coffee or sodas all day long, has now become a common component of diet aids, multi-nutritional supplements and even chewing gum. This is due largely to published reports containing the results of scientific studies.

It seems to increase fat oxidation and insulin sensitivity during exercise, which is why it is being promoted as a fat burner. It has cancer-preventative activity, may reduce the risk of heart disease, and appears to be beneficial in type II diabetes, the metabolic syndrome, Crohn’s disease, arthritis and a number of other health problems.

It has natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. Because chronic inflammation and oxidation are two of the big causes of cellular aging, green tea extract benefits every cell of the human body and may extend your life-span.

Some would say that all sounds too good to be true, but we know what the causes of aging are. We also know that specific nutrients and extracts counter those processes. Whether or not we can live longer healthier lives depends on a variety of different things. Lifestyle, of course, plays a role, as does one’s diet. But, most health experts, nutritionists and naturopaths agree that multi-nutritional supplements can help.

They must be properly formulated and include different nutrients that are known to work together. A tablet with an enteric coating is the best method of delivery, because of the detrimental affect that stomach acid has on many nutrients. In foods, the fiber and other components protect the essential nutrients, somewhat. But, nutritional supplements, without an enteric coating have no protection. In other words, you cannot expect to see the green tea extract benefits, unless it makes it to your upper intestine, where it can be fully absorbed.

The best supplements are not found in discount stores and they are a bit more expensive than the multi-vitamins that you are probably taking every day, but they are well worth the expense. There is no doubt in my mind about that. I have experienced the benefit, myself, and so has the rest of my family. We get the green tea extract benefits and much more.

Generally speaking, we feel better. We rarely have colds or other viral infections. We have more energy. We sleep better. Our skin and hair looks healthier. And, I know that we are doing everything that we can to protect our long-term health.

The supplements that we take include antioxidants to fight free radical damage, anti-glycation agents, because glycation is just as dangerous as free radical damage, and anti-inflammatories to reduce the effect that foods and toxins have on our bodies. They also contain methylation agents, because methylation is needed to form various compounds necessary for continued good health. If you want the best value for your money, find a supplement that provides all of these things, as well as the green tea extract benefits. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, please take a look at my website now.

Gene Silencing May Increase Risk of Lung Cancer: Cancer treatment review

Gene Silencing May Increase Risk of Lung Cancer
by Peter Kent

Research recently published in an issue of the American Association for Cancer Research has found that chemical modification, also known as hypermethylation, of a single gene in the lung may increase the progression and severity of lung cancer in a patient diagnosed with the condition.The Science Daily news article reported that after smoking, a patient may develop “tobacco-mediated hypermethylation”.

Through the development of these findings, it becomes much easier for scientists to treat lung cancer by reversing the process of “silencing” the gene, which has been identified as MTHFR, which upon modification induces a stronger surge of lung cancer development.

The study also noted that through the consumption of such dangerous carcinogens, such as tobacco smoke and potentially asbestos fibers, there may be the development of genome damage, which can cause mutations among genes, and eventually silencing them through chemical modification, which in turn also will cause the increase of lung cancer progression, according to scientists.

Mesothelioma Lung Cancer

Mesothelioma cancer is what the National Library of Medicine has deemed a “cancer of the tissue” and it effects the mesothelium “tissue that lines the lungs, stomach, heart and other organs.” The National Cancer Institute (NCI) reported the following mesothelioma signs and symptoms including:

* shortness of breath

* pain in the chest

* accumulation of fluid in the chest

* weight loss

* abdominal pain

* sweling in abdomen

* bowel obstruction

* blood clotting

* fever

* anemia

Litigation Involving Mesothelioma Cases

Individuals who have suffered from a mesothelioma diagnosis are encouraged to utilize a free legal consultation from an experienced mesothelioma attorney. It may be a necessary step to develop a mesothelioma lawsuit.

Becoming involved in a mesothelioma lawsuit may provide compensation for a mesothelioma victim.

Also, it may be useful to develop a mesothelioma lawsuit as a monetary reward could be earned. It is common that individuals who have mesothelioma cancer require the administration of chemotherapy, which can often cost several thousand dollars each session.

To learn more about developing mesothelioma and asbestos litigation, visit the LegalView information portal on mesothelioma and get up-to-date treatment news as well as the latest jury verdicts and assistance on obtaining a mesothelioma lawyer.

Mesothelioma is often considered a fatal condition, which is why it is imperative that an individual know the details behind the condition.

Cholesterol Levels and Fitness : Good Health review

Cholesterol Levels and Fitness
by Paul Rodgers

Cholesterol is an essential nutrient for human health that saves lives. It helps to protect against infectious disease and repairs damaged tissue. Cholesterol is naturally present in cell walls or membranes everywhere in the body, including the brain, nerves, muscles, skin, liver, intestines, and heart. Cholesterol is required in the membrane of mammalian cells for normal cellular function, and is either synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum, or derived from the diet, in which case it is delivered by the bloodstream in low-density lipoproteins. Cholesterol can also be converted to vitamin D in our body and used for the calcification of bones and teeth.

The precise causes of a high level of blood cholesterol are very complex, with many genetic factors playing important roles. The causes which are now seen as contributing to higher-than-normal cholesterol levels are: hereditary factors, which are the most important; then high blood pressure; followed by stress, smoking, obesity and dietary cholesterol. Unfortunately, some individuals have very high cholesterol levels, and the cause is hereditary; about 25 people in 10,000 carry this trait. Some drugs that are known to increase cholesterol levels include anabolic steroids, beta blockers, epinephrine, oral contraceptives, and vitamin D.

Some studies have shown that fish oil supplementation may increase the level of LDL-cholesterol (the “bad” kind), but that the ratio of HDL-cholesterol (the “good” kind) to LDL remains unchanged. Another study found an average reduction of 38% in triglyceride levels and an increase of HDL levels of 24% in both men and women consuming fish on a daily basis. Healthy lifestyle changes such as losing excess weight and exercising regularly can help lower triglyceride levels.

Physical fitness is to the human body what fine tuning is to an engine. Physical fitness is the capacity of the heart, blood vessels, lungs, and muscles to function at optimum efficiency. In previous years, fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. Physical fitness is now defined as the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations. Whether exercise is aerobic or anaerobic, exercise, health, and physical fitness go together for life. Aerobic fitness reduces brain tissue loss in aging humans.

The decision to carry out a physical fitness program cannot be taken lightly. Unless you are convinced of the benefits of fitness and the risks of unfitness, you will not succeed. As you undertake your fitness program, it’s important to remember that fitness is an individual quality that varies from person to person. Your goals, your present fitness level, age, health, skills, interest and convenience are among the factors you should consider. Exercise that doesn’t raise your heart rate to a certain level and keep it there for 20 minutes won’t contribute significantly to cardiovascular fitness. The best-laid plans of many a fitness program have been ruined by too much enthusiasm on the first day andsore muscles on the second.

An aerobic exercise program can burn fat and increase the metabolic rate. Popular aerobic conditioning activities include brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, rope-jumping, rowing, cross-country skiing, and some continuous action games like racquetball and handball. It is generally recommended that aerobic exercises be done three to five days per week, from twenty to sixty minutes of continuous activity at a time, such that the heart rate increases from 50 to 90 percent, depending on the intensity of the workout. Heart rate is widely accepted as a good method for measuring intensity during running, swimming, cycling and other aerobic activities.

In a nation of couch potatoes, suggesting that people find whatever kind of exercise works for them is sound health advice. Weight training exercise is essential for enhancing muscular strength and endurance, helping to prevent the decline of muscle mass (and metabolic rate) that accompanies aging, and promoting bone health.

Does a Multiple Vitamin Boost My Health and Wellness?
by Darrell Miller

Multiple vitamins should be designed with one purpose in mind. They should provide you the ability to properly balance your regular diet with the additional vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants needed to make your diet nutritionally complete.It is rare that people follow the recommended daily allowances in their regular diets. For this reason, multi-vitamins were developed to provide the missing nutrients to your daily diet. Vitamins designed with this purpose will automatically provide you with the essential additional nutrition you need to boost your health and wellness.

The Correct Multi-vitamin Make-Up:

A good multivitamin supplement will contain all of the following ingredients. It is designed to balance an average diet and boost health and wellness.

* Major vitamins * Minerals * Amino acids * Carotenoids * Tocopherols * Tocotrienols * Antioxidants

Antioxidants are an important part of any diet because they attack and neutralize free radicals. These fragments of chemicals are caused by:

* Normal metabolism * Pollution * Ultraviolet radiation * Rancid oil * Other toxins

Scientists believe that free radicals are one of the elements responsible for aging and degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, arthritis and cancer. It is because of the nutrient deficiencies in our regular diets that we have become more susceptible to degenerative diseases.

Mixed Tocopherols and Tocotrienols:

Vitamin E is a series of related compounds. The four main forms are alpha, beta, delta and gamma. Most multi-vitamin supplements only contain large amounts of alpha tocopherol. A healthy diet needs a mixture of them all.

When too much alpha tocopherol is induced, gamma tocopherol is depleted. This causes deficiencies because gamma tocopherol is crucial to good health as well. For this reason, it is important that your tocopherol intake is balanced. A mixed intake of all tocopherols is more effective in preventing cardiovascular disease.

Tocotrienols are potent antioxidants that complement the alpha tocopherol. The combined nutrients are much more effective at preventing oxidation. This is why you must have a balanced combination of tocopherols and tocotrienols to maintain a healthy diet and a healthy body. To accomplish this you must have a balance of all of the compounds that make up vitamin E.

Mixed Carotenoids:

These are the red, orange and yellow plant pigments that are found in all of our fruits and vegetables. All of these contain different amounts of carotenoids, but the colors are often hidden by the plant’s chlorophyll content. Examples of foods containing large amounts of carotenoids include:

* Kale * Collard greens * Swiss chard * Broccoli

Tomatoes contain Lycopene, which is a red carotenoid found in tomatoes. It is a potent antioxidant that reduces the risk of prostate cancer. Unfortunately, carotenoids are better absorbed through the ingestion of supplements than from foods. Multi-vitamins usually only contain beta carotene. It is important to find one that contains beta carotene, alpha carotene, lycopene, lutein and zeaxanthin.

The Bottom Line:

A complete multiple vitamin supplement is necessary as a part of a daily health and wellness regimen. The best multi-vitamin contains a healthy balance of everything listed above in the correct dosages. It is important to do your homework and be sure the multi-vitamin you choose will do its job correctly.

Learn as much as you can about your own body’s individual nutritional needs. By giving your body proper nutrition, you help it to fight off illness and diseases much more efficiently. A complete multi-vitamin will:

* Strengthen your immune system * Decrease your risk of cancer, heart disease and osteoporosis * Increase your level of energy * Elevate your moods * Help you to enjoy a healthier, more productive life

Choose a multi-vitamin that has been developed based on the latest science and technology. You will be taking a well-rounded supplement that was designed to properly complement a typical daily diet.

Frisbee Golf- An Excellent Team Building Activity
by Sonny Castro

Frisbee Golf is an excellent team building activity, and a fun group activity for children and adults alike. Frisbee golf is destined to maintain its cult following just like other off-beat sports like broomball or hacky sack.Disc golf (sometimes called Frisbee Golf) is a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basket or at a target. Disc golf is similar to traditional golf and uses much of the same rules and terminology. Disc golf has no rule concerning how many discs a disc golfer can carry. Disc golfers must have a supporting point (usually a foot but can be any part of the body) on the playing surface within 30cm behind the front edge of where their previous shot landed (if inbounds) at the point their next throw is released. Disc golf doesn’t have “hazards” as defined in ball golf.

Frisbee golf has overcome its reputation as a game associated with hippies and hemp, and bases its appeal across a wide spectrum of Princeton students. Frisbee golf rules are simple and easy to learn. Frisbee golf rules also take place on a special course designed just for frisbee golf. Frisbee golf rules do not specify how you must throw your frisbee.

Despite the fact that golf discs fly twice as far as Frisbeediscs,Frisbee golf is still a most enjoyable golf-like activity, especially for youth. Played much like International Handball, Frisbee Golf is a fast-moving team-sport guided by the feathery float of a large Frisbee. Fun for old and young alike; Frisbee Golf is as easy as finding a frisbee and a bucket or two. The sport of Frisbee golf is very popular among both men and women, and many colleges have their own Frisbee golf teams or clubs.

Players who throw with a great deal of snap should throw over stable discs, whereas a player who doesn’t throw with a great deal of snap should throw under stable discs. Attacks are made in two ways: by throwing a disc in play into the opponents’ court in an attempt to have the disc come to rest within that court without ever having touched out-of-bounds, or by causing both discs to be touched by a player or players on the opposing team at the same time (called a “double”). Players may not run while holding the disc. Players throw a Frisbee by flicking the wrist, so that the disc spins as it sails through the air. Professional players consider around a 200-250ft shot to be an approach. Players finish a hole by hitting a target with the Frisbee.

Frisbee golf is similar to traditional golf and uses much of the same rules and terminology. Frisbee golf is a free way to spend time with friends, get exercise and enjoy nature. Frisbee golf is a fun sport that just about anyone can participate in, and is a lot of fun to do. “To me, Frisbee golf is one of those sports people of all ages can play, whether they’re competitive or not.
