Amazon.com Product Description:
Depending on your tolerance for toting a heavy backpack uphill, picnics and hiking may or may not be an ideal combination. Those disinclined to lug chairs, blankets, dining ware, and coolers for comfortable dining, may find themselves instead seated on a damp log, wolfing down an energy bar. For hikers who want their fresh air with French bread, Welcom WearEver created their Deluxe Hi-Back BackPack Chair. Worn as a backpack when folded, it has ample room for a picnic blanket, small cooler, camera, soccer ball, and water bottles. Its durable, 25-millimeter, aluminum frame and 600-denier polyester fabric support up to 250 pounds of equipment.

As if the versatility of a backpack chair weren't enough, Welcom WearEver has loaded this hiking essential with numerous amenities. The chair’s hardwood arm rests are great for relaxing elbows while reading a book. A cup holder keeps soda cans safe from ants, passing-by dogs, or sand sprays. A removable headrest pillow adjusts for varying heights, plus offers four reclining positions. The backpack compartment provides 1800 cubic inches of storage space and hangs from the backrest of the chair--so users can store articles while seated. A zipper seals the compartment, preventing items from tumbling out while traveling. Two, adjustable arm straps accommodate different body sizes.

The chair seat stands 10-1/2 inches off the ground. Folded, the chair measures 28 by 23-1/2 by 5 inches. This item weighs 11 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Buyer Beware: Chair Material Not Sweat Friendly
I used this as a beach chair through 2008. It's an excellent chair for transporting all my beach things: ipod, towel, wallet, hawaiian tropic. It folds easily and never found it heavy for me at all walking to the beach with it slung over one or two shoulders.

But...i'm an old-school beach bum and the material they use for the chair is very sturdy and thick, but also would make me sweat a lot. I would get up from about an hour on the beach and the entire chair would be soaked with my sweat.

I'm not a sweaty guy - i'm really not.

I have been on other beach chairs in my life, and this one I need to lay a towel on it to soak up my sweat.

I think its much better suited for camping over the beach...but I still think it's a "OK" beach chair, which is why i'd give it 3 stars.

If the manufacturer could make something more suited for beach use (a lighter, thinnner more comfortable material) I think it would be an even bigger hit.

Love it!!!
Was born and raised at the beach and return every summer. Always looking for the perfect beach chair. These chairs were awesome! Lightweight, a convenient large backpack, and very comfortable with the adjustable padded head cushion. We all fought over who got to use one the three that I purchased. Will absolutely buy more for next summer!

Great Concert, Beach, and all around chairs
I have 3 of these chairs (green, blue, and blue childrens) and they are great. Lightweight, easy to carry, and can pack enough things in the back for a concert, beach, hike, or WearEver you decide to go.

Great backpack chair
Took this chair to the beach for a week. It was easy and comfortable to wear. Eliminated need for a beach bag. Was able to store 2 large beach towels, etc in the storage compartment easily. Great chair and price. Happy with my purchase so far.

favorite beach chair ever! :)
I had this chair when I lived at the beach (Maui) and used it everyday. It was my favorite. Then, I moved back to the states and left it to a roommate. So I had to order a new one because I missed it so much. It is good for carrying all the beach essentials and it is comfy for sitting and reading and laying out in the sun. (Also good for car camping). The only thing that I miss about my old chair is that it had some rope intertwined along the sides so it seemed sturdier and more comfy. Other than that, best chair ever!! :)

Amazon.com Tent Guide
Selecting a Tent
Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Expect the Worst
In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you're a backpacker, alpine climber or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.

Three- and Four-Season Tents
For summer, early fall and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.

For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.

Domes and Tunnels
Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor-plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.

Size Matters
Ask yourself how many people you'd like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you're a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don't need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.

Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it's easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It's also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you're considering.

easy to set up and way bigger than i thought it would be...
set up and tear down are way easy. was a little surprised that you HAD to use the rain fly otherwise the tent would be completely exposed. that being said... the rainfly also went up fairly easy too... and the large mesh on top allowed for a lot of air flow. followed the instructions to use seam sealant... that process was a messy confusing pain - i'm glad i don't have to do again... sure hope i did it right and now the tent won't leak. wonder why they don't just seal these suckers at the nice chinese factory? all in all it's a great tent for the price... and i can't wait to go camping again!

Wenzel Tent
Returned tent promptly. Mainly due to the fact that it was too small to fit my needs. Wasn't able to use the tent so that is why my rating is so low. Tent did go up fast and was easy to set-up. The tent stakes were flimsy, and the tent fabric was not to my liking. I think this tent would be great for kids in the backyard. Just too small.

A great inexpensive car camping tent
We used this tent during the Labor Day weekend camping. I have to mention that we did not face any inclement during our camping so not sure how it would hold up in rain or wind (hence the 4 start rating).

It was very easy to setup the tent (15 minutes max for one person, much faster with another pair of hands) and was spacious enough for two adults and a 2 yr old kid with some room to spare. The tent is designed adequately for air circulation, especially without the rain fly. The temperatures during the day were in mid 90s still inside the tent it was not too bad.

Couple of negatives though: 1) the poles does not feel very sturdy, 2) difficult to zip/unzip down the door (the problem could be the way I set the tent up).

The bottom of the tent is very sturdy built of tarp like material, but for extra protection we used a tarp below and it worked fine.

Overall for the price I paid for the tent it was a good purchase.

survived massive dust storms
...at burning man without failure. the cord to the rain fly snapped when we were breaking down but no biggie. solid tent even for the playa.

just what I needed...at a great cost
As a first time camper I was very hesitant to buy a tent because I wasn't really sure what was a good brand and if my air matress would fit and what if it rained..etc. I didn't really want to spend a whole lot of money since I don't plan on camping but once a year.

After reading the reviews on here I got the Timber Ridge tent. I'm super pleased with it. It fit my queen air matress with about a foot + left over on 2 sides for walking room. It was super easy to assemble...less than 5 minutes. The screen window in back is nice for ventilation. The price is great and the quality exceeds what you would expect for the cost. When I got the box the tent was so compact that I was worried I got the wrong one, but it just folds up very efficently. As long as you fold it tightly it will go back into it's original bag with a little bit of muscle. Great first time camping experience thanks to a nice roof over my head at night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

    Used it camping
I installed 2 of these in my 8 person tent. I'd say on a level of brightness from 1 to 10 it's a 6. Super strong magnets on the back hold it in place really tight and olso looks super clean when they are up.

    Wonderful camping light!
We've used this light for many camping trips and we love it. The strong magnet holds the light securly in place without slipping. It can easily and quickly be moved from outside to inside the tent. Also, it is very bright for its compact size. Very so glad we bought it.

    OK, but obsolete and heavy
The product works so far, but it's pretty much obsolete now. Meaning, everything now is LED powered, which are incredibly light and compact. This guy is bulky, very heavy (with the batteries and magnet), and the light is pretty dim. I have an LED flashlight which is powered by watch batteries that is far brighter than this light, and it is the size of a large pen. This light takes 4 AA batteries and still gives off a pretty dim light. And did I mention it's bulky and heavy?

Hey, the light works, the magnet is strong, and it does the job, but I'll bet (if it already doesn't exist) someone will come out with an LED tent light that is far brighter and much less bulky. I'd recommend this light only for car camping and just for basic lighting needs, not for reading.

    Great tent light
We were going tenting for the first time with 5 kids. This is one of the best acessories we could have purchased. My kids have a fascination with flashlights, so they are never where I leave them and I didn't want anything with a flame anywhere near the tent.We mounted this light over the door of the tent and had light whenever we needed it. It was bright enough for us to see what we were doing and I didn't have to go looking for the flashlight!

    Bright, but heavy
They are very bright, and last for quite some time, but they are rather heavy and weigh down the tent a bit when attached.

    About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

    Rust free after 20+ years.
Got my father's old Swiss pocketknife. I remember it as an 8-10 year old.(I'm 39 now) Going through my dad's effects I found the knife recently. Sharp as anything out of the store and NO RUST anywhere. Not even a little...Unbelieveable, the quality. Luckily, I didn't have to buy mine. But, your son may not have to buy his.

Great for camping and around the house
Let me start by admitting that I purchased this one on a whim. I found it as a Gold Box deal for under . I couldn't pass it up and thought I would use it as a gift for one of my elder sons. After it arrived and I took some time to look it over, it found its way to my pocket where you can find it most days.

Others have written comparisons to other models, and have highlighted specific tools. I'll try to add a few things that helped make this one of my favorite knives.

    - Right off the bat, there's no beating the style of can-opener that you'll find on this and every other Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. I've used both types (on Wegner and Victorinox models) and this one wins, hands down.

    - I wear eyeglasses, and the mini screwdriver that is nested in the corkscrew is perfect for tightening up the screws on my glasses. You can either use it separately, in your fingers, or you can flip it over and thread the blunt (handle) end back into the corkscrew, allowing you to use the full knife as a handle. That simply makes it easier to use.

    - I don't use the hook for carrying tied packages, but find it invaluable for removing hot pots from over a fire. No more burnt fingers from the water pot for me!

    - I like having both the larger and smaller cutting blades, especially for whittling.

    - The scissors are larger than those on the Classic (I have one on my key ring), so I find them easier to use, especially for cutting fabric or larger sections of paper (like coupons from the in-store flier).

    - The number of screwdriver tips makes this knife a wonderful tool to have on-hand for quick tinkering. The phillips head is suprisingly versatile. I was able to use it on extremely small wood screws, and it works very well on computer case and mounting screws (I'm a techie by trade, and love having this one with me at the office).

    - The one feature I thought I would never use, the ballpoint pen, actually came in quite useful a few days after pocketing this knife. I was at a product launch meeting and I didn't have a pen (I had counted on the vendor giving away logo pens, but they ran out). The pen nests into the same groove as the hook (albeit at the opposite end), making for a suprisingly comfortable and easy-to-use writing instrument.

    - Finally, since I've been wilderness camping for more than 25 years, I like having the magnifying glass as a good weather fire-starter.

This is the knife that sits in my pocket most days of the week. I also take it on all of my weekend camping trips and hikes. I do like some other knives for other occasions (I prefer, for example, my Centurian {also by Victorinox} when I'm canoeing in the BWCA since I can use the longer {4"} blade to fillet fish and since I like the thinner profile stuffed into my pocket while sitting in the canoe). This a fantastic, all-around knife. You can't go wrong for the price (even if ). It's well-worth it and bound to become a favorite.

    Everything but the kitchen sink...
The only minor drawback the Champion Plus is there are no pliers like in the Champion. I got this for my son at a Lightning Deal price of .99. That's an incredible amount of knife for the money. Frankly, I expected a lower quality knife but was very happy when I received a high-quality product. It's big but any gear-head will like it. Add a Leatherman multi-tool and you're a walking toolbox.

    What you would expect.
I bought this for my wife as a gift since she had lost her other Swiss knife. She had one that has like 8000 tools but this unit suites her needs fine. She carries it in the car as more of a tool than a daily use type of knife. It's been used many times and she is perfectly happy with it. Craftsmanship and fit/finish seemed what you would expect from Swiss.

    Awesome knife
I like to camp and hike. I go as often as I can and every time I go I HAVE to carry my Swiss Army knife with me.I thought I would never use every tool on this knife but I have.
It is very good quality, you get MORE than you pay for. Excellent to carry with you or have in your car for emergencies.
